STATEMENT – MCKAY TIMBER

We strongly condemn today’s alleged invasion of McKay Timber by members of the Bob Brown Foundation.

McKay Timber are an iconic Tasmanian company, employing some 120 people and constantly innovating and finding ways to value-add to our renewable timber resource.

All of their wood is sourced from forests approved for harvesting by both the Greens and Wilderness Society in 2013.

We urge both the Government and Labor Party to work together, and find a way to pass stronger workplace protection laws through the Parliament.
